Ten schools compete in a contest on gender equality.

The competition featured 10 teams with nearly 150 contestants and performers from 10 selected units. Prior to this, the online round took place from November 15th to December 5th, 2024, with the participation of 109 high schools and continuing education centers in the province, receiving enthusiastic participation from thousands of students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Mai - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, affirmed,gender equalityGender equality is a global issue. It has become one of the important development goals of countries around the world, aiming towards a progressive, democratic, and civilized society.

In the provincial education sector, over the past years, gender equality efforts have achieved encouraging results, contributing to narrowing the gender gap in various fields and making a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the province and the country.

However, in reality, communities, societies, and even educational environments still face many challenges regarding gender equality.

Gender stereotypes still persist in various aspects of social life, including schools and families, and gender-based violence continues to occur in many forms.

Based on the above meaning, the competition to learn about knowledge and laws on gender equality, prevention and response to gender-based violence is organized with the aim of diversifying activities and forms of dissemination and promotion to raise awareness of laws, policies, and regulations on gender equality, prevention and response to gender-based violence, for the advancement of women.

At the same time, the competition aims to spread meaningful messages about gender equality to students and people from all walks of life in the province.

In this competition, 10 teams from high schools including Que Phong, Le Loi, Quynh Luu 4, Hoang Mai, Huynh Thuc Khang, Thanh Chuong 3, Do Luong 4, Ky Son, Hermann Gmeiner, and the Dien Chau District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center will participate in four rounds: greetings, knowledge, skit, and public speaking.

The competition focuses on knowledge and legal aspects of gender equality; prevention and response to gender-based violence; the advancement of women; and implementing guidelines.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to Huynh Thuc Khang High School, two Second Prizes to Do Luong 4 High School and Thanh Chuong 3 High School. Third Prizes were awarded to three schools: Hoang Mai High School, Ky Son High School, and Quynh Luu 4 High School. The remaining schools received Consolation Prizes.
