(Baonghean.vn) - 700 medium and large-scale livestock households and animal feed businesses have signed a commitment not to use banned substances in livestock, poultry and aquaculture.

To ensure the safety of the total livestock herd of 92,000 cattle and 1.7 million poultry, over 2,300 hectares of aquaculture, the district has implemented strict disease surveillance from the district down to 458 hamlets.

With a scale of 1,500 ducks, 3 hectares of freshwater fish and 100 pigs for meat and breeding, the farm of Mrs. Mai Thi Thu's family in Bac Hong hamlet, Dien Hong commune is one of the largest farms in Dien Chau with an income after deducting expenses of 800 million VND/year. Every day, the farm invests 6 million VND with 250 kg of industrial feed for ducks, fish and pigs.

In Dien Trung, there are 132 large-scale livestock farming households, including 80 chicken farming households, 40 pig farming households and 22 shrimp farming households. All are divided into 7 groups, fully equipped with specialized tools for disease prevention. Implementing the commitment to not use banned substances in livestock farming, up to now 100% of farming households have strictly complied.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Dai - the largest shrimp farmer in Dien Trung with a scale of 4 hectares, consuming 60 tons of industrial feed each year said: It is not only when signing the commitment that I do it, but up to now, my family's shrimp farming has strictly followed the safety of the product. The feed is taken from reputable companies and has been assessed and allowed to circulate on the market before being imported.

Animal feed businesses in Dien Chau pledge not to trade or supply feed that does not meet quality standards or contains prohibited substances.

Along with the farms, there are currently about 150 establishments trading in animal feed and veterinary medicine of all kinds in Dien Chau. Therefore, in addition to promoting propaganda, the district has drastic solutions in inspection and warning households that violate the law. At the same time, it organizes the signing of commitments not to trade in animal feed containing prohibited substances.

After 2 weeks of organizing the signing of commitments on safe livestock farming, without using banned substances, up to now, 39/39 communes and towns in Dien Chau with nearly 700 medium and large-scale livestock farming households and animal feed businesses have signed commitments, reaching 100%.
