102 months in prison for husband who killed wife for wearing short skirt

The People's Court of Hai Duong province sentenced Vu Trung Hieu (former State Treasury Inspector of Hai Duong province) to 8 years and 6 months in prison for beating his wife to death in a fit of jealousy.

According to the indictment, on the morning of March 29, at his house in Van Loc area (Tu Minh ward, Hai Duong city), Hieu was annoyed when he saw his wife, Vu Thi Minh, wearing a knee-length skirt to attend an acquaintance's wedding. The defendant angrily went to the house of a colleague to drink alcohol.

At around 1:20 p.m. the same day, when Hieu returned home and went to the second floor to find a hangover pill, Ms. Minh came down from upstairs. Seeing her husband angry, the woman teased him. Already drunk, Hieu got jealous and beat Ms. Minh, breaking 13 ribs and tearing her lung... Due to the severe injuries, Ms. Minh died at 5:20 p.m. the same day.
