103 yellow apricot trees in front of General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb

Responding to the Tet tree planting movement "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho", the Standing Committee of the Quang Trach District Youth Union (Quang Binh province) organized the planting of 103 yellow apricot trees in front of the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua-Dao Yen, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district.

Mr. Tran Viet, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Trach District Youth Union, said that the tree planting program at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap is a meaningful activity of union members and youth to remember the General's great contributions to his homeland and nation.

103 yellow apricot trees, equal to the General's age, will create a beautiful and meaningful apricot garden.

Currently, the youth union members of Quang Trach district have planted 50 yellow apricot trees. These trees have been carefully selected from shape to quality, most of which have produced beautiful flowers.

Taking advantage of the cool weather which is very suitable for planting trees, it is expected that the remaining yellow apricot trees will be planted by the youth union members of Quang Trach district from now until March 2014.

In recent years, the Tet tree planting movement "Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" by the youth union members of Quang Trach district has been organized methodically and brought high efficiency.

On average, each year, union members and youth here plant 4,000-8,000 shade trees and scattered trees. In 2014, union members and youth of the district strive to plant over 1,000 trees of all kinds, protecting the green, clean and beautiful landscape environment for their homeland./.
