11 movies shown in Vietnamese theaters in July

"Minions", "Ant-Man", "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" are the highlights at movie theaters this month.

1. Shake Up Hollywood(Watch the trailer)

The romantic comedy, Hollywood Adventures, will open in theaters in July. The film features many big names in Asian cinema such as Zhao Wei, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, and Sung Kang (star of the Fast & Furious series).

Huynh Hieu Minh plays Jim - a heartbroken man who wants to quickly go to America to win back his girlfriend, so he signs up to join a tour group called "Adventure Trip to Hollywood". He coincidentally meets Sam (played by Dong Dai Vi). The two are led to the film capital by tour guide Jodi (Trieu Vy). But unexpectedly, the three are falsely accused, become wanted criminals and are forced to think of a way to clear their names.

The yellow Minion characters received great attention from the audience when they were split into their own films, after the success of two episodes of Despicable Me (2010 and 2013). Minions talks more about the origin of the yellow single-celled creatures, tirelessly on the journey to find the master they admire. The Vietnamese dubbed version has the voice of actress Le Khanh.

Barely Lethal is an action comedy directed by Kyle Newman. The film brings together Hollywood names such as Jessica Alba, Samuel L. Jackson, Jaime King and rising young actress - Hailee Steinfeld.

The film is about Megan, a 16-year-old assassin. Wanting to have a "normal" life, she fakes her death and returns to school. However, Megan is terrified by the challenges at school that are even more than her previous secret missions.

4. The Death Gallows(Watch the trailer)

The horror film directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing will be released in mid-July. It stars Classidy Gifford, Pfeifer Brown, Ryan Shoos... The film revolves around a group of students trying to recreate a tragic accident that happened 20 years ago.

5. Connasse: The Girl from Paris(Watch the trailer)

Connasse Princesse Des Coeurs (Girl from Paris) is a comedy about Camilla, 30 years old, a silly woman who thinks her current life is not worthy of her. She decides to find a way to enter the royal world as she dreams. French actress - Camille Cottin - plays the main role.

6. Harbinger Down(Watch the trailer)

Harbinger Down is a horror film directed by Alec Gillis. The film revolves around a group of students' expedition to the Harbinger ship. Here, the group is savagely attacked by strange monsters.

7. Ted 2(Watch the trailer)

Ted 2 follows the journey of John (Mark Wahlberg), his bear Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), and lawyer Samantha Leslie Jackson (Amanda Seyfried). They all fight for Ted's civil rights, to be recognized as a human being. Ted does this because he wants to get married and have children with his girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth).

The film is produced by Universal Pictures and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Brady, David Hasselhoff, Morgan Freeman...

8. Ant-Man(Watch the trailer)

Ant-Man is Marvel's second action film of the summer. It will close out phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introduce a brand new hero.

In the movie, "super thief" Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) when wearing the Ant-Man armor will have extraordinary powers, turning normal people into small people, and communicating with ants.

9. Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'(Watch the trailer)

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' is the second film produced by Akira Toriyama. The film is about the revival of Freeza, to take revenge on the Saiyans. The film is dedicated to fans of the famous Japanese comic series - Dragon Ball.

10. The Hero Chi You(Watch the trailer)

The Hero Chi You (The Legend of Xi You) tells the story of a tribal hero who, after being defeated by the Emperor, retreated to the South and became the leader of the Hmong tribe. The Chinese action and martial arts film will be released in 3D.

11. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation(Watch the trailer)

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is part of the Mission: Impossible series, with the first part released in 1996. The series is associated with the name of actor Tom Cruise.

The IMF, of which agent Ethan Hunt is a core member, is known as the "headquarters" of elite spies, specializing in carrying out seemingly impossible missions with absolute high security. But now, the IMF is facing the risk of being destroyed by a threat from an organization born to oppose them: The Syndicate.

With an army of equal strength, The Syndicate is in hot pursuit of the IMF. Loyal agent Ethan Hunt decides to fight The Syndicate himself, even though this dangerous attack could be his last mission. In Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, most of the stunts were performed by Tom Cruise without the help of a stunt double.
