128 units support the construction of 10,184 houses for poor households and people in difficult circumstances in Nghe An

On the morning of March 7, in Vinh City, the Steering Committee of Nghe An province on mobilizing and supporting the construction of houses for poor households and people in difficult circumstances held a meeting to listen to the results of mobilizing and supporting, discuss working regulations, program implementation plan, implementation process and the establishment of a Steering Committee Support Team.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, and members of the Steering Committee.

Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Doan Hong Vu said that as of February 28, 2023, 128 units had donated to support the construction of 10,184 houses, equivalent to VND 521,193 billion.

Of which, 47 departments, branches, sectors, and administrative agencies supported the construction of 2,125 houses, equivalent to 109.645 billion VND. 11 units of the Party, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations supported the construction of 371 houses, equivalent to 17.38 billion VND.

21 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province supported the construction of 3,179 houses, equivalent to 159.4 billion VND. 33 enterprises, organizations, individuals and philanthropists supported the construction of 3,843 houses, equivalent to 201.468 billion VND. 16 companies, enterprises and corporations supported through the Nghe An Association in Hanoi to support the construction of 666 houses, equivalent to 33.3 billion VND.

Up to now, Nghe An province still has more than 55,000 poor households and more than 53,000 near-poor households; of which 15,300 households are facing housing difficulties, including 9,200 households in need of building new houses and more than 6,100 households in need of repairing houses.

Previously, on the morning of February 4, on the occasion of the 93rd Anniversary of the Party's Founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2023), the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of organizing a launching ceremony of the campaign to support the construction of houses for the poor and people with difficult housing circumstances in Nghe An province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Nghe An has established a Steering Committee at the provincial, district and commune levels to mobilize and support housing construction for poor and near-poor households, headed by the Party Secretary, and at the provincial level, the Provincial Party Secretary is the Head of the Committee.
