(Baonghean.vn) - After many unsuccessful ambushes, on May 25, Tan Ky District Police "arrested" a gambling den of 13 people, seizing nearly 83 million VND.

Recently, in Tan Ky area, some subjects from other localities appeared to organize gambling, causing public outrage among the masses.

The subjects have many sophisticated methods and tricks of operation, often taking advantage of crowded events such as funerals and weddings to organize gambling. The district police have repeatedly ambushed to arrest them but have not been successful.

Faced with that situation, Tan Ky District Police established a special project coded 517B to fight and destroy. After a period of monitoring, on the afternoon of May 25, the Special Project Team organized to crack the case and caught 13 subjects red-handed gambling at Tran Van Tuan's house (Bich Thai hamlet, Nghia Thai commune). It is known that when the police raided, Tuan's house had just finished holding a memorial service.

The arrested subjects include: Duong Minh Binh (born 1968) and Dang Minh Cuong (born 1968), both residing in Thai Hoa town; Nguyen Xuan Vuon (born 1967), residing in Nghia Dan district.

Along with that, there are 10 subjects residing in Nghia Thai commune, Tan Ky district including: Nguyen Van Tan (born 1969), Vu Van Tan (born 1973), Hoang Van Nam (born 1979), Cao Dinh Xo (born 1962), Nguyen Van Nhu (born 1986), Nguyen Duc Trung (born 1984), Tran Van Chin (born 1978), Tran Van Tuan (born 1960), Nguyen Dinh Thong (born 1976), Tran Van Huong (born 1965).

At the gambling table, the police seized 82.7 million VND, a set of dishes and some other evidence.

The case is currently being further investigated by Tan Ky District Police.
