14 Ministry agencies will move to Tay Ho Tay urban area
The two areas planned to relocate the headquarters of ministries and branches are the Tay Ho Tay Urban Area (27 hectares) and the Me Tri Tu Liem National Exhibition Center (from 30 - 50 hectares).
On the morning of August 23, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction held a conference to discuss plans to relocate the headquarters of ministries and ministerial-level agencies out of Hanoi's inner city and introduce the planning of the Tay Ho Tay urban area, where 14 ministries will move to.
The two areas planned to relocate the headquarters of ministries and branches are the Tay Ho Tay Urban Area (27 hectares) and the Me Tri Tu Liem National Exhibition Center (from 30 - 50 hectares). The Tay Ho Tay Urban Area alone is expected to accommodate 12 to 14 ministries with an average area of about 1.5 hectares for each ministry, located along the central axis of the urban area.
The Ministry of Construction has made a plan and will submit to the Prime Minister the investment mechanism and financial resources for the construction of the new headquarters through the sale of the old headquarters. The construction can be undertaken by the Hanoi People's Committee or the Ministry of Construction. 1,600 households in Xuan La commune, Tay Ho district will have to relocate to a new place to make room for this project.
Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Dinh Toan said: “According to the Prime Minister’s direction, the ministries and branches will have to relocate and work with the Hanoi People’s Committee. The relocation will have to be carried out step by step depending on the budget and funding sources. From now until September 1, the draft report will be completed and the Ministry of Construction will submit to the Prime Minister the planning of the ministry’s headquarters”./.
