15 minutes of deadly gang fight in Ha Tinh
Forced to stop in the middle of the highway by two pickup trucks, Tuan held a gun and was about to shoot when dozens of people from a rival group rushed in and beat him to death.
On October 17, Ha Tinh police said that the victim of the brawl on National Highway 1A through Ky Dong commune, Dao Ngoc Tuan (31 years old, residing in Duc Tho district), died after being returned to the hospital.
Authorities are detaining many people to take statements and clarify crimes.Intentionally causing injury resulting in death,according to Article 134 of the 2015 Penal Code. The cause is said to stem from a conflict in debt collection between two gangs.
At around 3:00 p.m. on October 16, on National Highway 1A, through Ky Dong Commune, Tuan was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe when a group of strangers in two pickup trucks hit him from the side, blocked him from the front, and forced him to stop. After getting out of the car, the two sides got into a fight. Tuan was seriously injured and taken to the emergency room.
Upon receiving the news, about 30 police officers from Ky Anh district were present to arrest those involved.

Witnesses said that before being knocked down, they saw Tuan driving the Hyundai Santa Fe around the area at a very slow speed, one hand holding the steering wheel, the other hand continuously holding the phone talking to someone.
A few minutes later, they heard a loud bang and ran out to see three cars had crashed into each other, forming a triangle. The Hyundai was in the middle, a pickup truck was on the side and another was blocking the front, with debris flying everywhere.
"I saw Mr. Tuan get out of the car, holding a pistol and intending to shoot, but a group of about 10 tattooed men rushed in, took the gun, and punched and kicked him. One of the men with Mr. Tuan locked the door and barricaded himself in the car, while the other ran away," a witness recounted.

According to him, the fight lasted about 15 minutes. The victim Tuan resisted weakly because he had no allies, and the enemy was too numerous, beating and slashing. A few dozen minutes later, when 30 police officers arrived at the scene, the "liquidation" was almost over, blood was everywhere.
Hundreds of curious onlookers stood watching, causing traffic congestion on National Highway 1A through Ky Dong commune for many hours.
"Because there were people barricading themselves in the car, the scene could not be cleared. By dusk, the police used a tow truck to tow the Hyundai Santa Fe and the pickup truck back to the headquarters, the remaining car had already been driven away," said another witness near the scene.

Authoritative sources said that Tuan is a prominent gangster in Duc Tho district, who opened a pawn shop in Ky Dong commune (Ky Anh district) and provided financial services. He just got married two weeks ago.
The gang that committed the murder has a branch in Ky Anh town. They are gangsters and have been operating in the loan sharking business for over 10 years.
