Mr. Pham Viet Lien, an agricultural extension officer of Cao Son commune, said: The whole commune has 530 hectares of Gay tea, of which 150 hectares are not harvested due to the prolonged heat. The biggest difficulty for tea growers in Cao Son commune is that the tea hills are far from water sources. Moreover, the tea hills are concentrated on high ground, so drilling or digging wells for irrigation is difficult. People are applying the method of tea fermentation to prevent drought, but if the hot weather continues, this method will not be effective. |
