In the first 9 months of 2014, ministries, branches and localities increased inspection, examination and handling of violations of traffic safety order. Investment, construction and development of transport infrastructure and management, exploitation of transport infrastructure (KCHTGT), and control of vehicle load continued to be focused. According to the Global Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum, Vietnam's transport infrastructure competitiveness index in 2015 increased 9 places compared to 2014 and increased 30 places compared to 2011.

Traffic safety situation in the whole country in the first 9 months of the year (from December 16, 2014 to September 15, 2015) has many positive changes, traffic congestion in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and on key national highways continues to be reduced; violations of overloaded goods on the road have decreased sharply. The number of cases, deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents continues to decrease, in particular, the number of particularly serious traffic accidents involving passenger cars and heavy trucks has been controlled.
In the first 9 months of the year, there were 16,459 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 6,518 people and injuring 14,929 people. Compared to the same period in 2014, there were 2,239 fewer accidents (-12%), 240 fewer deaths (-3.55%), and 2,906 fewer injuries (-16.29%).
In Nghe An, in the first 9 months of the year, the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing all levels and sectors to resolutely implement breakthrough solutions in ensuring traffic order and safety. Thanks to that, the traffic order and safety situation has many positive changes, traffic accidents have decreased in all 3 criteria compared to the same period. Specifically, the whole province had 189 traffic accidents, killing 131 people and injuring 146 people. Compared to the same period, the number of accidents and deaths decreased by 10%, the number of injured people decreased by 9.32%.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee praised the agencies, units and localities for doing a good job in ensuring traffic safety, and at the same time requested the Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and functional agencies to take more drastic measures to ensure traffic safety, find out the causes and have new solutions to ensure traffic safety effectively.
