16 years old, became a cold-blooded killer

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of January 28, the People's Court of Nghe An province opened the first instance criminal trial to try the murder case against Phan Van Quang, born on September 5, 1996, residing in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province, around the beginning of August 2012, Phan Van Quang brought to the house of Nguyen Van Lang (Tuan B hamlet, Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu) an old phone to sell. After being refused by Mr. Lang, Quang became angry and planned to take revenge. On August 6, 2012, Quang had a sickle on him and called Mr. Lang to ask him to drive him to Tan Thang commune (Mr. Lang was also a hired driver). Waiting until dusk, passing through a deserted road, Quang sat in the back, used the sickle to slash Mr. Lang's neck to death and then ran away. After 2 days on the run, Phan Van Quang was persuaded by his family to surrender.

At the trial, Phan Van Quang confessed to all his crimes and showed remorse. Considering that the defendant's actions were hooligan, aggressive, and cruel, but at the time of the crime, Phan Van Quang was not yet 16 years old, confessed honestly, and actively compensated the victim's family for part of the damage, the panel sentenced Phan Van Quang to 11 years in prison.
