March 17: Opening of the 2017 National Press Festival

The 2017 National Press Festival with the theme “Vietnamese press accompanies the country's innovation” will officially open on the morning of March 17 in Hanoi.

The 2017 National Press Festival was organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association to celebrate the country's achievements in the renovation process; honor the strong development and great achievements of the Vietnamese Press, promote press products associated with the labor and creative activities of journalists nationwide;

Strengthening exchanges and meetings between journalists and the public, thereby encouraging the press to best perform its functions and tasks, meeting the people's increasing need for information; Enhancing the role and prestige of the Vietnam Journalists Association in journalism in particular and social life in general.

The press conference is also an opportunity to commend and encourage the great contributions of units, individuals, organizations and businesses that have made positive contributions to the revolutionary press career.

The main activities of the 2017 National Press Festival include: Organizing the exhibition of spring newspapers and typical press publications of 2016 and the first quarter of 2017 according to 3 topics: Press Panorama - Central Press - Local Press;

Exchange between journalists, press agencies with the public, state management agencies, organizations and units (morning of March 18); Art and fashion show performed by students of journalism schools (morning of March 18);

Vote for excellent reports on environmental topics in 2016 and awards within the framework of the Press Festival (Award for impressive and unique display booth; Award for beautiful Tet newspaper cover; Award for beautiful interface for Electronic Newspaper on the occasion of Dinh Dau Lunar New Year; Award for impressive TV program format on the occasion of Dinh Dau Lunar New Year);
