19 Nghe An fishermen in distress were brought safely ashore

(Baonghean.vn) - 19 fishermen from Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town on 2 fishing boats that had an accident while fishing in the Gulf of Tonkin were brought safely to shore by rescue ships. 7 fishermen who were seriously injured are being treated at central and local medical facilities.
(Baonghean.vn) - Two fishing boats, NA-94281-TS, captained by Hoang Van Phuong, and NA-90427-TS, captained by Nguyen Van Thuy, with 17 crew members, were operating at sea when they were sunk by an iron-hulled ship with unknown registration number and nationality, which then fled.
At 1:30 a.m. on April 5, the SAR-411 ship carrying 19 crew members of the Quynh Phuong fishing boat that had an accident docked at Nghi Son International Port amid mixed feelings of joy and sadness among relatives.

The procedure for handing over the fishermen from the Search and Rescue Center of Region I to the functional forces of Nghe An province was carried out quickly.

Officers and soldiers of the border guards of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces, staff at Nghi Son International Port; doctors and nurses from Hoang Mai Town Medical Center and relatives took turns loading the injured fishermen onto the vehicles, performing first aid on the spot and moving ambulances for the seriously injured.

At nearly 4 a.m., the last bus carrying relatives and slightly injured fishermen left Nghi Son port to return to Hoang Mai town.

Of the 19 fishermen involved in the accident, 7 were seriously injured, including head and neck injuries, broken arms, broken legs, chest and abdominal injuries.

Six other fishermen are currently being treated at medical facilities in Hoang Mai town. Two fishing boats have sunk, with estimated damage of about 3 billion VND./.
