2,000 international cruise ship passengers "break ground" in the ancient capital of Hue

Tomorrow, December 31, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province will hold a ceremony to welcome the 1.2 millionth international visitor to Hoi An in 2011. This guest is also part of a group of more than 2,000 German tourists and international crew members on the SuperStar Aquarius ship that will dock at Chan May port and "break ground" in the ancient capital of Hue on the same day.

The tourist group will travel across Vietnam from December 24, 2011 to January 10, 2012, visiting Vietnam's famous landmarks in Hanoi-Ha Long-Hue-Da Nang-Hoi An-Ho Chi Minh City-Can Tho-Vinh Long-Phan Thiet to learn about the history, culture and daily life of local people according to a special program designed and organized by Saigontourist.

In addition, on the first day of the year, January 1, 2012, many international delegations from the US, Russia, UK, Hong Kong... will visit Vietnam by sea and air across the country.

For example, on the morning of January 1, 2011, the SuperStar Aquarius ship carrying 2,000 tourists and crew members will set sail for Ha Long Bay on a journey to explore the beauty of the Bay; a group of Russian tourists will arrive in the city named after Uncle Ho at 4:50 p.m. on January 1, 2011 on flight VN595, following the route Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang (this group of tourists will receive a gift worth 1 million VND/person presented by Saigontourist).

Representative of Saigontourist Travel Service Company, Ms. Doan Thi Tranh Tra said that Saigontourist's 2011 ended with total revenue from travel services reaching over 1,600 billion VND (up nearly 25% compared to 2010), serving over 115,000 international cruise passengers and nearly 300,000 domestic passengers./.
