Mother and child died at Nam Thanh commune health station - Yen Thanh

(Baonghean) - On the afternoon of August 2, at the Nam Thanh Commune Health Station (Yen Thanh), there was a death of a mother and her child, Ms. Phan Thi Tam (born in 1989), residing in Loc Thanh hamlet, Nam Thanh commune.

It is known that Ms. Tam went into labor and was taken to the Commune Health Station by her family at 2:00 a.m. on August 2. At around 1:30 p.m. the same day, Ms. Tam gave birth to a baby girl weighing nearly 3 kg and the baby died shortly thereafter. At 2:00 p.m., Ms. Tam also died at the Commune Health Station.

This was the first time the mother Tam gave birth. Immediately after the incident, the local authorities reported it to the district authorities. The district health department sent staff to investigate the cause of death of the mother and child.
