The two Vietnamese boxers competing today, Taekwondo boxer Le Huynh Chau and female wrestler Nguyen Thi Lua, were both eliminated in the first round.

Nguyen Thi Lua, the number 1 hope of Vietnamese wrestling, was eliminated after losing 0-5 to Vietnamese-Canadian athlete Carol Huynh in the 48 kg weight class.

Lua's failure at the London Olympics was not too surprising, as her opponent is the current champion.

In this match, Carol Huynh's superior class and experience helped her win without much difficulty, to enter the next round.

In the quarterfinals, Canadian wrestler Carol Huynh will face Belarusian wrestler Vanesa Kaladzinskaya.

Meanwhile, another hope of the Vietnamese sports delegation in Taekwondo, Le Huynh Chau, could not have joy after he lost to the second seed Wei Chen Yang (Taiwan-China) in the under 58 kg weight class, with a score of 1-5.

On August 10, female Taekwondo fighter Chu Hoang Dieu Linh will also be in a difficult group in the 67kg weight class. The opponent of this 17-year-old fighter is the 6th seed from Germany, Fromm Helena./.
