(Baonghean)-In recent days, industrial wastewater has continued to be discharged directly into the environment in front of the SABECO Song Lam packaging factory in the Bac Vinh industrial zone, causing severe pollution to the living environment and farmlands of farmers in Hung Dong commune (Vinh City).
Within the same sewer drain, there are always three different colors of water: dark brown, cloudy white, and brick yellow. The wastewater from this drain has a very foul and pungent chemical smell.
The direct discharge of untreated wastewater here has caused fish deaths and resulted in over 17 hectares of rice paddies and aquaculture ponds in the Bau Dong field of Hung Dong commune being abandoned for several years.
Despite numerous petitions submitted by residents and the Hung Dong commune authorities to relevant agencies and government levels requesting prompt remedial measures to ensure a safe living environment and agricultural land for farmers, the issue remains unresolved.
