200 young volunteers harvest rice to help people
(Baonghean.vn) –Although the rain has stopped for 2 days, many communes in Hung Nguyen are still flooded, and rice fields nearing harvest are at risk of being completely lost. In particular, the two communes of Hung Tan and Hung Thong are flooded more than half a meter deep.
Faced with that situation, in order to help people harvest flooded rice in time, on September 8-9, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union mobilized more than 200 Youth Union members from the Business Bloc, Nghe An College of Tourism - Commerce and Hung Nguyen district to organize rice harvesting to help people in Hung Thong and Hung Tan communes.
Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, went to the fields to harvest and transport rice with the union members in Hung Tan commune. With the volunteer and pioneering spirit of the youth, more than 5 hectares of flooded rice are being harvested and transported to shore in time with the farmers.
