While the fact that young people are often only interested in modern trends and indifferent to historical issues has been mentioned many times as a common reality in today's society, the lack of rich introduction, teaching and communication methods is emerging as a leading cause that makes the subject of history always have a dry and unattractive appearance, and young people do not really love Vietnamese history. In response to this reality, a special historical animation program called Heroic Spirit of a Thousand Years was born.

Starting from Kinh Duong Vuong, Lac Long Quan, Hung Vuong, An Duong Vuong... through the periods of Chinese domination, to the Ngo, Dinh, Ly, Tran, Le dynasties... the program "Hao khi ngan nam" recreates the national history with typical stories associated with each period. As the person who created the idea and directly directed the implementation of the project, the program's production director, Mr. Trinh Van Son shared: "History is a fundamental subject in social sciences and humanities, not only simply describing and reproducing events that happened in the past, but also systematically outlining the process of formation and development of the nation over thousands of years with many ups and downs. Learning historical knowledge is to return to the cultural roots of our ancestors, to absorb moral lessons, to help people form a sense of preserving, inheriting and promoting good traditional values, to enhance patriotism, national spirit and sense of responsibility of individuals towards the community. However, in reality, over the years, the attention that society has paid to the history of our country is still not really commensurate with its position and importance."

With the desire to bring a more vivid new approach to conveying historical content, the producer chose to recreate on television the historical process of the country from the beginning of the country's founding to the end of the Vietnamese monarchy through the 2D animation genre. The overall structure of the program is like a film reel stretching along the time direction, from the time of King Hung to the end of the Le - Trinh period. Each 5-minute episode is associated with a character, an event or a story in history. Although the production of the program still has many difficulties due to the country's historical sources having many gaps and sometimes there are different and inconsistent opinions, the program has tried to consult and coordinate closely with experts and reputable researchers, trying to gradually perfect the content to bring to television audiences a basic and systematic view of national history.
Each episode is carefully invested in sound and image effects. Hopefully, with an open perspective and flexible methods of collecting materials combined with script writing, the program will create vivid and attractive animated episodes for the public, especially young audiences. Through the program, the production team hopes to contribute a small part to arouse love for history, foster love for the Fatherland as well as revive the traditional values and good morals of our ancestors; At the same time, initially help the young generation of Vietnam form a historical awareness that values evidence and initially learn how to analyze and solve historical problems.
