23 poor children received heart surgery
(Baonghean) -With the sponsorship of Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Bac A Bank) and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, in Nghe An, 100 children with congenital heart disease in difficult circumstances will receive surgery support.
In the first phase of 2012, 23 children received heart surgery at E Hospital (Hanoi). This is an act that demonstrates the affection and responsibility of Bac A Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company towards the community and is highly appreciated by all levels, sectors and people.
Instructions for patients to complete procedures for heart surgery support
To make the program to support congenital heart surgery for children in Nghe An more practical, the Nghe An Children's Support Fund took on the organization and directly invited associate professors and doctors from the Cardiovascular Center - Hanoi E Hospital to directly examine and screen patients at the facility. On August 16, the delegation conducted a screening examination in Dien Chau district. 324 children from Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu districts were screened. On August 17, at the Do Luong examination point serving Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts, the delegation conducted a screening examination for 398 children. On August 18, in Nghia Trung commune (Nghia Dan), screening examinations were organized for Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Thai Hoa town, Quy Hop, Quy Chau and Que Phong districts, nearly 1,000 children were screened.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh - Director of Nghe An Children's Support Fund said: "The program to support congenital heart surgery for children sponsored by Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company prioritizes cases belonging to poor households, near-poor households, difficult circumstances, families with policies, families with meritorious services to the revolution according to the regulations of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, children in mountainous areas, remote areas, border and island areas... Therefore, after conducting screening examinations at the facility, the Children's Support Fund will coordinate with relevant levels and sectors to assess the family situation and select the right subjects. The Provincial Children's Support Fund has completed the necessary procedures and sent the records of 23 children (phase 1) with congenital heart disease in difficult circumstances to E Hospital in Hanoi. Currently, most of the children who benefited in phase 1 in 2012 have arrived at E Hospital to undergo surgery. According to information from E Hospital, some special cases will have to prolong the monitoring period and need the support of Japanese cardiovascular experts. It is expected that the program to support congenital heart surgery for children sponsored by North Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company will finish the first surgery in November 2012.
The 2012 heart surgery program for children in Nghe An province, sponsored by Bac A Bank and TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, is 1 billion VND for the first phase; and in the coming time, it will support 100 children with congenital heart disease in difficult circumstances to have surgery.
