230 elderly and poor people received free medical examination and medicine
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 22, Tan Ky District Medical Center organized eye screening and provided free medicine for 230 patients in Tan An and Nghia Phuc communes.
In order to facilitate the elderly and the poor to be examined and screened directly at commune health stations, Tan Ky District Health Center has been going directly to communes and towns every Thursday to examine, advise on knowledge of prevention, treatment and provide free medicine for eye diseases to people.

This time, out of 230 patients screened, 36 were indicated for surgery. The District Medical Center will coordinate with the Central Eye Hospital to perform Phaco surgery for the patients. All surgery costs and travel costs for follow-up visits are free of charge.
The program of free eye examination and medicine is a meaningful activity, contributing to health care and protection; creating conditions for the elderly who are poor, in remote areas to have timely examination, consultation and treatment of eye diseases./.
