24 clubs participate in the 4th Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival

Vi and Giam folk songs are the common cultural heritage of the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Four years after the honoring day, Vi and Giam has been continuously preserved and promoted. To date, the two provinces have built over 300 Vi and Giam folk song clubs with thousands of members.

The inter-provincial Vi and Giam folk song festival is held every two years, an opportunity for clubs and artists to meet, exchange, learn, share experiences and performance skills. At the same time, it commends, recognizes and honors those who have contributed to preserving and transmitting this precious heritage. Thereby, it aims to promote the Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk song singing movement among all classes of people.

There are 24 clubs participating in the 4th Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival, of which Ha Tinh has 13 clubs and Nghe An has 11 clubs. 72 performances will be performed by more than 600 artisans, actors and artists in many forms, recreating the village spaces, living habits and occupations in localities and regions.

On the opening night (August 25), 4 clubs: Nghi Long (Nghi Loc), Thanh Van (Thanh Chuong), Son Hoa (Huong Son), Ky Loi (Ky Anh) brought their first performances. The remaining clubs have performed and will perform on August 26, 27, and 28.

Within the framework of the festival, on the night of August 26, 12 folk music clubs representing the folk music clubs of the two provinces performed in Vinh city, Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An) and Can Loc and Cam Xuyen districts (Ha Tinh). The closing ceremony of the festival will take place on the night of August 28 with summarizing activities and awarding ceremonies./.
