25 villages in Tuong Duong do not have national grid electricity

(Baonghean.vn) - Tuong Duong district currently has 5 communes with 25 villages without national grid electricity.must use the water in the stream to 'produce' electricity for lighting.

Mr. Vi Dan - Head of Dua village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong shared: "For several years, some villagers have contributed money to buy mini generators to place in the stream. Seeing the electricity light up is very exciting. If the water flow is stable, there is electricity all day, no worries, but in the summer when the stream dries up and during flood season, it cannot be used. At that time, we have to use oil lamps...".

Luong Minh is only more than 12 km from the district center, but currently 6/10 villages still do not have electricity, including Ca Moong, Xop Chao, Dua, Cham Puong villages... People mainly use mini generators, but not every family has the money to install them. In addition, mini generators are very unstable. Without electricity, life, which is already difficult, becomes even more difficult, especially when the family has important events such as funerals or weddings.

"Currently, Yen Tinh commune has 4 villages without electricity, Nhon Mai commune has 3 villages, Yen Hoa commune has 2 villages... These villages still have many difficulties in transportation and lack of electricity, the people's lives have not improved much" - said a representative of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Tuong Duong district.
