The repair of the AAG cable is slower than expected. By the evening of August 25, the Internet in Vietnam will return to normal.

According to information from the AAG submarine cable operator, troubleshooting work has been delayed for another day due to bad weather.

Specifically, the welding of the S1L cable branch to Hong Kong is expected to be completed at 5:00 p.m. on August 22. The S1B branch to Singapore is expected to be completed at 5:30 p.m. on August 25.

Previously, the AAG management board also announced a postponement of the AAG cable repair date due to the storm. In total, Internet connections from Vietnam to international destinations were delayed for 23 days. During this time, domestic network service providers transferred connections via AAG to neighboring cable lines to avoid affecting customers.

This is the first time the AAG submarine cable has experienced a double failure. The S1L line to Hong Kong was broken on August 2. Less than 24 hours later, the S1B line to Singapore also experienced a failure near the Changi landing station.

At the end of June, the AAG fiber optic cable also had a problem and was interrupted for 6 days due to a broken segment connecting Vietnam to the US and Hong Kong.
