3 communes with nearly 5,000 households are still completely isolated due to floods in Nghe An
As of 10:00 a.m. on July 25, Nghe An province still had 3 communes completely isolated due to floods and 13 communes partially isolated. A series of infrastructures, agricultural production, irrigation, education, healthcare, and public works were severely damaged.
According to the latest report of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense, as of 10:00 a.m. on July 25, 2025, floods in Nghe An have caused serious damage over a large area, severely affecting people's lives, livelihoods and property.
Human damage:The whole province recorded 4 deaths, 1 missing person and 4 others injured.
Evacuation work:The whole province has evacuated 2,011 households from the dangerous area, mainly concentrated in the communes of Tuong Duong, Muong Xen, Nhon Mai, Huu Kiem, Bac Ly, Luong Minh... Of which, 13 households in Luong Minh commune had to evacuate permanently because their houses were completely buried.

State of separation and isolation:Currently, there are 16 communes with 146 villages, corresponding to 13,178 households/61,710 people, that are completely or partially isolated.
Specifically, 3 communes were completely isolated including Huu Kiem, Nhon Mai, Muong Tip with a total of 4,958 households/23,674 people.
13 communes were partially isolated including Muong Xen, Chieu Luu, Na Loi, My Ly, Bac Ly, Keng Du, Tuong Duong, Luong Minh, Yen Hoa, Huu Khuong, Nga My, Anh Son Dong, Vinh Tuong with 8,220 households/38,036 people.
Housing damage:currently available 1,170 houses were damaged, roofs were blown off in many communes in highland and mountainous areas, 40 houses were flooded, and 50m of fence collapsed.
Damage to Education, Health and Public Works: 15 schools were damaged; 2 medical stations were damaged; 18 commune headquarters, 14 community cultural houses, 1 commercial center market, 6 welcome gates and 5 lighting poles were severely affected.
Damage to agriculture, forestry, fisheries and livestock:3,175.8 hectares of rice, 338.4 hectares of rice seedlings, 2,624.1 hectares of vegetables, 2,429.1 hectares of annual crops, 110.2 hectares of perennial crops, and 57 hectares of fruit trees were damaged. 678.1 hectares of forest were broken down; 253 urban trees were broken down. 439 livestock and 9,866 poultry were killed or swept away; 6 barns were damaged. 467.9 hectares of ponds and lakes, and 226 aquaculture cages were damaged.
Traffic damage: There are 54 landslides (16 national highways, 38 provincial roads). 110 landslides, traffic jams, 9 flooded roads, 104 local traffic disruptions. 2,702m of road collapsed with a volume of soil and rock up to 24,333 m³. 10 bridges, 5 suspension bridges, 6 spillways and 3 culverts were damaged or washed away.

Damage to irrigation and industry:2,020m of canals, 100m of production water pipes were damaged. 4,950m of domestic water pipes were damaged; 2 domestic water supply systems were affected. 154 electric poles were broken, 550m of electric wires were broken; 2 transformer stations were burned; 25 meters were relocated.
Currently, the authorities of Nghe An province are making efforts to overcome the consequences of floods, open roads, ensure communication, support people to evacuate and stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
