3am July 26th will start welding broken submarine fiber optic cable

The operator of the AAG (Asia America Gate Way) international submarine cable has just announced that the cable welding work is being carried out urgently.

The first main weld will be carried out at 3:00 a.m. on July 26. The cable will be welded at 11:00 a.m. on July 28. It is expected that by 11:00 a.m. on July 30, the repair will be completed and 100% of the transmission channel will be restored.

Previously, at 6:53 p.m. on July 15, an incident occurred that caused a cable on the AAG cable line - Vung Tau - Hong Kong segment to break. The interruption location was 18km from the Vung Tau landing station, located at a depth of 19m below sea level. This incident affected the traffic of telecommunications service providers in Vietnam operating on this line, including FPT Telecom.

FPT Telecom has used land cables to forward the downed AAG traffic to minimize the impact. The company also recommends that users use international Internet for their important services, other services should be switched to domestic routes to optimize transmission capacity and continuously expand international bandwidth to increase usage capacity for users when one of the international connection routes has problems.
