4.2 billion VND to support the establishment of the Humanitarian Fund
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 20, in Vinh city, the Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society to organize a launching ceremony to support the establishment of the Humanitarian Fund. Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the province, departments and localities in the province.
Over the years, with the active participation of the Front's member organizations and the positive response of all classes of people, the business community, philanthropists, organizations inside and outside the province and international organizations, thousands of people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, orphans, lonely elderly people, the poor, and victims of natural disasters and misfortunes in the province have been supported with money and materials through the Provincial Red Cross, thereby partly overcoming difficulties, having faith to overcome fate, and living a better life.
The organizers presented flowers to groups and individuals supporting the Humanitarian Fund in 2013.
However, in our province, the number of poor households is still very large; there are 266,022 vulnerable people who need the sharing and help of the whole society... The establishment of the Humanitarian Fund aims to share difficulties, continue to provide emergency relief and humanitarian assistance such as building charity houses, supporting capital and breeding animals for production for these people.
At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee read the appeal letter of the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province on supporting the establishment of the Humanitarian Fund in 2013; as well as implementing the plan to coordinate the organization of the Humanitarian Fund in 2013. Nghe An province calls on agencies, organizations, units, schools, enterprises, cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers and people of all walks of life, ... to voluntarily join hands to contribute to the establishment of the fund. Starting from June 2013, the Red Cross Society coordinated with the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels to launch a campaign to support the three-level humanitarian fund in the province.
Right at the launching ceremony, the 2013 Humanitarian Fund received support from groups and individuals with an amount of over 4.2 billion VND./.
