(Baonghean) - When it comes to Nguyen Van Phong, a student of class 11C5, Nguyen Duc Mau High School, Quynh Luu District, teachers and friends at school all know and admire Phong's determination and affection for his friend. The disabled student that Phong has brought to class every day for the past 4 years is Le Xuan Tu (student in the same class). Tu has been disabled since birth, his body is weak, his limbs are atrophied and contracted, he cannot walk. All personal activities depend on his parents. Since he was a primary school student, Tu has been cared for by his parents.Take him to class every day, pick him up after class. When he was in middle school, his parents were busier with work, so many days they couldn't take him to class on time, and sometimes he had to stay home from school. Seeing that he was eager to study, but because of his disability, his parents were busy with family work, and his sister was studying far from home, Phong came to encourage him and volunteered to carry him to school starting from the 8th grade. Every morning, after finishing his housework, Phong stopped by Tu's house to carry him to school. Although it was hard, Phong didn't give up, every day he still carried his friend to school on his back on the familiar road.
Entering high school, the distance from home to school was more than 3 kilometers, so Phong's parents bought him a bicycle to make it easier. With a new bicycle, Phong took Tu to school with him. In class, Tu always encountered difficulties such as: walking, sitting to study, opening books to take notes... Phong was always the one to share and help Tu.
“Every time I go to class, Phong has to carry me up to the classroom on the third floor, and after school he carries me down and takes me home. Without Phong, I probably wouldn’t have had many opportunities to go to class,” Tu said emotionally.
Teacher Tran Quoc Tuan - Vice Principal of Nguyen Duc Mau High School shared: "Phong is a diligent and good student, despite his difficult circumstances, he has strived to study well. In addition, Phong has a very high spirit of solidarity, and has volunteered to carry his friends to school for many years. The school's Board of Directors has commended Phong's determination to overcome difficulties and help his friends with the whole school and will have a worthy reward for his kind deeds."
