4 years in prison for robbery

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 19, the People's Court of Nghe An province brought the robbery case of Nguyen Van Sy (born in 1987, residing in Hung Yen Bac commune, Hung Nguyen, Nghe An) to public trial. Although the victim was absent, given the seriousness of the case, the panel of judges still decided to proceed with the trial.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province, Nguyen Van Sy was a worker at an advertising company in Vinh city. During the time when the company was underemployed and had no income, he thought of a way to rob to get money to spend. His method was to use a motorbike borrowed from his brother, wandering around the streets and market gates. When he discovered that his "prey" was careless and off guard, Sy immediately approached and used his left hand to snatch the bag before speeding away. After taking all the belongings in the victim's wallet, Sy threw the wallet on the side of the road to hide the evidence. Sy was arrested on July 7, 2012, after having just completed the robbery of Caroline Albenque (French nationality) while she was riding her bicycle on Nguyen Sy Sach street (Vinh city).

At the trial, Nguyen Van Sy confessed to all his crimes. Realizing that Nguyen Van Sy's crimes not only violated other people's property but also used dangerous methods that could affect the lives and health of others, the Trial Panel sentenced Nguyen Van Sy to 4 years in prison.
