The ceremony to honor students who have achieved high results in international, regional and national competitions and students who have achieved high scores in the high school graduation exam is a meaningful activity that Nghe An province has maintained for many years. However, this is the first year that the ceremony to honor students with high scores will be carried out according to new criteria.

2025 is the first year that the High School Graduation Exam is conducted according to the 2018 General Education Program with a change in the number of subjects from 6 subjects (Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language and choosing 1 of 2 groups of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences) to 4 subjects.

Accordingly, candidates will have to take 2 compulsory subjects (Math, Literature) and 2 elective subjects in Foreign Languages, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, and Technology.

Due to changes in the number of subjects, this year, instead of rewarding students with high scores in the High School Graduation Exam based on the number of students with the highest scores in the Natural Science and Social Science groups, Nghe An will reward students according to 4 groups.

Specifically, according to the proposal of the Department of Education and Training, select 50 students with a total score of 4 subjects ranked from high to low (ensuring that the total score of 4 subjects must be from 34 points or higher, with no subject below 5 points).

In addition, select 10 ethnic minority students with the highest total score in 4 consecutive subjects (ensuring that the total score of 4 subjects must be 32 points or higher, with no subject below 5 points); when considering the last student, if the students have the same score, all students are allowed to be taken.

With this criterion, there will be 4 groups of students:

Group 1are students who registered for the exams in Math, Literature and 2 optional subjects, which are 2 of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Technology. In this group, Nghe An has 8,040 students registered for the exam and the province plans to reward 15 students, of which 13 students have high scores and 2 students are ethnic minorities with adjacent scores.

Regarding the Ceremony to honor students who won international, regional, and national prizes in the 2024-2025 school year and students who achieved high scores in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, the Provincial People's Committee has a plan to organize it. Accordingly, the ceremony is expected to be held on the evening of Friday, August 22 at the Provincial Labor Culture House.

This year, Nghe An is expected to honor 195 students, including 6 students who won international and regional prizes and 96 students who won prizes at the National Excellent Student Competition.
