First is the movie "The Guillotines" (Vietnamese title is "Royal Conspiracy") by director Liu Weiqiang - known as "China's biggest budget 3D movie."
The film tells the story of an elite royal assassination squad established by the Emperor to eliminate the enemy. In this heavy martial arts-action film, the two actors Huynh Hieu Minh and Nguyen Kinh Thien had to abandon their bright appearance to play two warriors facing each other. Both are more talented than others and their confrontation lasts from the beginning to the end of the film with breathtaking martial arts, explosions, and chases.
Next is the movie "Cold War" by two directors Leung Lok Man and Luk Kim Ching. This is one of the action movies with the highest production budget in the history of Hong Kong cinema - 1 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 128 million USD). The movie is about the battle of wits between the police and criminals and spies in the police force, a familiar topic in Hong Kong cinema.
The film features two Hong Kong Heavenly Kings, Aaron Kwok and Andy Lau, although Andy Lau is only a guest actor. Opposing Aaron Kwok in the film is veteran actor Tony Leung Ka-fai, who plays the role of both "brave" and "wise" police officers, two evenly matched opponents in the race for the position of Director.
However, Leung Ka-Hwi's role has a more complex psychology, he always surprises the audience and completely conquers them with his style and courage. And Leung Ka-Hwi has surpassed Aaron Kwok, and is nominated for Best Actor at the 7th Asian Film Awards, which will take place on March 18 in Hong Kong.
The Last Supper is a Chinese historical action film directed by famous director Lu Chuan. The film is about the Chu-Han conflict, depicting the war between Liu Bang, Xiang Yu and Han Xin, but focusing on the personalities, lives, ambitions for power and intrigues of people born in troubled times. Participating in the film are famous names such as Liu Ye, Wu Yanzu, and Zhang Zhen.
At the 7th Asian Film Awards, the film Blood Swallow was nominated in 4 categories: Best Actor (for Liu Ye), Best Supporting Actress (for the beautiful actress Qin Lan, as Lu Hou), Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design. The three films are currently showing in theaters in Vietnam.
The movie "The Last Tycoon" is the first movie to mark the collaboration between two Hong Kong cinema icons, Chow Yun Fat and Sammo Hung.
The film also features the handsome actor Huynh Hieu Minh as Dai Khi, a gang leader. Inspired by the true story of a gang leader's life on the road to building the largest underground empire in Shanghai in the 1930s, "The Last Tycoon" attracts viewers with both martial arts elements, a powerful cast of stars and epic footage.
At the 7th Asian Film Awards, "The Last Tycoon" was nominated in the categories of Best Costume Design and Best Production Design. The film will be shown in Vietnam from January 25, 2013./.
