4 Vietnamese students hospitalized after bus accident in the US

Four Vietnamese students were hospitalized after a school bus collided with a tour bus in Seattle.

According to the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco, four Vietnamese students were hospitalized after a car accident in Seattle. Three of them have been discharged: Nguyen Son M, Nguyen Tu Quyen, and Nguyen Risa. Student Dinh Thi Nam Phuong is being treated at Harborview Hospital.

Deputy Consul General Cao Vu Mai and Deputy Consul Pham Ngoc Cuong flew to Seattle to directly meet with the Vietnamese students injured in this accident, supporting them and their families.

The accident happened at around 11am on September 24 on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, Washington. The bus was carrying students from North Seattle College and international students from six countries. An estimated 50 people were injured and 12 were in critical condition. The victims were taken to nine state hospitals, according to city police.

The four victims were Claudia Derschmidt, 49, an Austrian, Privando Putradanto, 18, an Indonesian, Mami Sato, 36, a Japanese, and Runjie Song, 17, a Chinese.
