40 travel agencies participate in survey to build tours in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Province's Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion has just organized a Famtrip delegation to visit and build a tour route to connect and attract tourists to Nghe An in the context of tourism strongly recovering after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Diverse types of tourism

Nghe An is one of the localities with rich and diverse natural resources including sea and islands, primeval forests, ecological zones and systems of rivers, streams, caves, beautiful waterfalls and many landscapes and scenic spots that still retain their wild beauty, which can develop various types of tourism.

Besides natural resources, Nghe An is also known as a land with a rich culture and history, with the folk song heritage of Nghe Tinh, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; there is the Kim Lien - Nam Dan Relic Site, which preserves artifacts and historical cultural spaces associated with the childhood life of President Ho Chi Minh, which has been recognized by the Government as a special National Relic Site.

The province currently has 885 accommodation establishments with more than 20,000 rooms, including nearly 100 hotels rated from 1 to 5 stars. There are 53 travel agencies, including 28 international travel centers; there are 21 provincial-level tourist attractions.

According to statistics, before the outbreak, Nghe An welcomed an average of 5 million tourists each year. Of which, about 80% were domestic tourists, mainly from the northern provinces.

Survey to build tours and tourist routes

This Famtrip delegation includes 40 travel agencies from the Northern and Southern provinces. The delegation was organized to survey and develop tours and routes to bring tourists from all over the country to Nghe An in the near future. This is also an opportunity for Nghe An to promote and introduce its unique tourism products after a long period of stagnation due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh also frankly stated that tourist attractions in Nghe An are still quite monotonous, have not built sparkling images, unique check-in points so that visitors can use their phones to take pictures and post them on social networking applications. This seems simple but requires creativity and innovation. Because just one photo, one video posted on social networks can attract hundreds of thousands, even millions of people to follow, learn and eventually come.

Famtrip is an abbreviation for the phrase Familiarization trip, a term that has become familiar in the tourism industry to talk about a form of tourism to learn, get acquainted, and market. This is a tourism program for travel agencies, to one or more tourist destinations of a country or one or more localities to get acquainted with tourism products. Here, they will survey, select, and build a practical and effective tourism program to offer to customers, in order to attract tourists to know that tourism product.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Deputy Director of Nghe An Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center said: Nghe An welcomes 3-4 Famtrip groups every year. Connecting and inviting travel agencies to Nghe An is one of the meaningful tourism activities that contributes significantly to helping the tourism industry recover soon after the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the Famtrip delegation completes the survey, the province will listen to comments and suggestions, and at the same time direct departments, branches and tourism units in the province to connect and sign cooperation agreements with businesses and tourism units in other localities to jointly develop tourism in the coming time.

According to the plan, the Famtrip delegation will survey Nghe An for 3 days and 2 nights, from April 20 to 22, 2022, at attractive tourist destinations such as tea island (Thanh Chuong), Hon Mat (Nghia Dan), Con Cuong, Nam Dan, Vinh City and Cua Lo Town. At the end of the survey program, the delegation will organize a discussion on April 22, 2022.
