With a strong and comprehensive orientation towards internationalization of education, since 2009, FPT University has had the first international students from Japan, Germany, France, Portugal, Thailand, North Korea, Myanmar, Brunei... coming to study under student exchange and cultural exchange programs at the school.
Starting from the 2013 school year, FPT University officially had its first international student cohort studying a 4-year full-time undergraduate program with degrees awarded by FPT University. This can be considered a positive initial result in the effort to bring Vietnam’s higher education in general and FPT University in particular to the world.
International students of FPT University’s two majors, Information Technology and Business Administration, will study the same curriculum and training content as the current program for Vietnamese students. In addition, international students will learn more about Vietnamese culture, as well as participate in extracurricular activities and personal development programs.
Creating an international learning environment right in Vietnam is one of FPT University’s efforts to equip students with a global mindset and the ability to adapt and work in a multicultural environment, aiming to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese human resources. Not only bringing benefits to Vietnamese students, increasing international student enrollment also becomes a driving force for universities to continuously improve their quality, towards the standards of a truly international university.
In addition to international enrollment, FPT University also strongly promotes activities such as opening overseas campuses, strengthening cooperation with prestigious universities around the world, creating opportunities for FPT students to participate in exchange programs, short-term study abroad at other schools.
The school is also promoting the implementation of the One Semester Abroad program - in the future, every FPT student will be required to spend one semester studying abroad, to experience and mature in a multicultural environment, thereby easily adapting and working in any country in the world after graduation. According to statistics from FPT University, 15% of the school's graduates have been and are working abroad.
