43 works won the National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education"
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 17, the National Press Award Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam's Education" took place in Hanoi. The award was co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Education and Times Newspaper.
Attending the National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam Education 2018" were Comrade Phung Xuan Nha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training; Journalist Thuan Huu - Member of the Party Central Committee - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.
The National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnam Education 2018” aims to honor authors and works about achievements and results of implementing innovation in teaching and learning of the Education sector across the country. Thereby, discovering and honoring outstanding individuals and groups in teaching and learning, who have made many contributions to the cause of Vietnam Education.

Previously, after more than 1 month of launching, the Organizing Committee of the National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education" received nearly 700 works from 4 types of press participating in the Award, including: Print Newspaper, Electronic Newspaper, Radio and Television. According to the evaluation of the Jury: The number of works participating in this Award is rich in both content and form of expression. The topics are quite comprehensive. The number of articles reflecting the positive aspects of the education sector is outstanding. Many articles are about examples of overcoming difficulties, the spirit of dedication of teachers and students in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha affirmed: Education is one of the fields that always receives great attention from public opinion, because education affects everyone, every family. Because of that, all information related to education and training in the press always attracts public opinion.

The support of the press in recent times has helped the major policies and changes in education and training reach public opinion; becoming a forum for teachers, education managers, students; experts, scientists, and the entire population to contribute their opinions and participate in the innovation process. In addition to consensus, the enthusiastic criticism of the whole society through the press has helped the education sector promptly adjust and perfect policies and decisions to suit the actual situation.
The success of today’s Award demonstrates the role of the press in the cause of educational development and the particularly important role of education and training in the cause of national construction and defense. The participation of many colleagues demonstrates the interest of the press in the Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” in particular and education and training in general.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude to the authors who, through their works, have helped society better understand the education sector through typical examples; the difficulties and shortcomings of the sector in the process of innovation.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 43 winning works, including 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 11 C prizes and 20 Encouragement prizes, 1 Special prize voted by the jury from 4 First prizes of 4 journalism categories. The work: Career stories, life stories of teachers in the Northwest highlands by the group of authors Tran Duy Van, Do Nam Thang, Le Dong Ha - People's Army Newspaper was awarded the prize for excellent work.
Nghe An Newspaper was awarded the Encouragement Prize in the electronic newspaper category with the work "Confusion in teacher rotation" by authors My Ha - Tien Hung.
