44 athletes participate in the 3rd Nghe An Newspaper Open Badminton Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - Celebrating the 52nd anniversary of the first issue of Nghe An Newspaper (November 10, 1963 - 2013), on the morning of November 1, the opening ceremony of the Nghe An Newspaper Open Badminton Tournament took place at the Nghe An Newspaper Sports House. The tournament sponsor is Construction Company 727.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Le Quoc Khanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, Pham Thi Hong Toan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper.

Compared to previous years, this year's Nghe An Newspaper Badminton Tournament has been expanded in scale. The tournament attracted 22 pairs of competitors with 44 athletes from the Provincial Party Committee's departments: Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Party Committee Organizing Committee; Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee; Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, Provincial Party Committee Mass Mobilization Department; Provincial Party Committee of Provincial Public Security Bloc; Vinh Transport Hospital; Thai Hoa Town, Cua Lo Town; Nghe An Newspaper Printing House and the host unit Nghe An Newspaper.

In the men's doubles over 40 years old category, there are 10 pairs competing, divided into 3 groups; men's doubles under 40 years old have 8 pairs competing, divided into 2 groups; mixed doubles has 1 group with 4 pairs competing.

Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, presented flowers to congratulate the units participating in the Nghe An Newspaper's open badminton tournament. After the opening ceremony, the teams entered the competition. The first match in group 1, men's doubles for the over 40 age group, was between the Cua Lo City Party Committee team and Traffic Hospital 4, and group 2, the Nghe An Newspaper team and the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

In the men's doubles over 40, there will be 10 teams, 4 of which will enter the finals. In the under 40 event, the first and second teams of both groups will enter the finals.
