5 Thai soldiers shot and bombed
On July 3, five Thai soldiers were injured when their vehicle was attacked by a bomb planted on a bicycle in the southern province of Yala.
The bomb exploded as the soldiers left the base for a routine mission. After the bomb exploded, a pickup truck drove past the scene and several gunmen in the truck opened fire on the soldiers.

Two soldiers were seriously injured in the attack. Police believe separatists from southern Thailand were behind the attack.
