5 billion dollar export items of Vietnam

After the first two months of the year, Vietnam had a trade surplus of 680 million USD and had 5 export items with turnover exceeding 1 billion USD.

According to the General Department of Customs, the country's total import-export turnover in the first two months of 2016 reached 46.69 billion USD, down 1.5% (701 million USD) compared to the same period in 2015.Of which, import-export turnover of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) reached 30.37 billion USD, up 0.6% over the same period.

Vietnam's exports alone reached 23.68 billion USD, up 3% (688 million USD). Of which, the value from the FDI sector reached 16.6 billion USD, up 7.2% over the same period last year.

Vietnam has had 5 products with export turnover exceeding one billion USD, of whichThe largest was phones and components with 4.7 billion USD. Textiles and garments also had many breakthroughs with an export value of up to 3.3 billion USD. Next, computers, electronic products and components reached 2.3 billion USD; footwear reached 1.8 billion USD; machinery, equipment and spare parts reached 1.3 billion USD.

In the two months, import turnover reached about 23 billion USD, down 5.7% compared to the same period in 2015. Particularly, the import value of the FDI sector reached 13.77 billion USD, down 6.4% compared to the same period.

Main products include: computers, electronic products, components; machinery, equipment, spare parts; phones, accessories; fabrics; iron and steel; plastics; gasoline; textile materials...

Thus, in the first two months of the year, Vietnam had a trade surplus of 680 million USD. The FDI sector still plays a leading role in the economy, accounting for 65% of the country's total import-export turnover.
