(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 5, at the Provincial Military School, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union coordinated with Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union - Provincial Military Command and Nghe An Radio and Television Station to organize an exchange with the theme: Nghe An Youth with the homeland's sea and islands.

Attending the meeting were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Military Region 4, Provincial Military Command, war veterans, and a large number of young union members of Nghe An province.

The exchange opened with performances about the homeland's sea and islands.

The exchange program is in response to the movement “Towards beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa” launched by the Provincial Youth Union, in order to promptly encourage the spiritual and material life of officers, soldiers, law enforcement forces and fishermen who are working day and night at sea. This is also a practical activity contributing to the forces fighting against China’s wrongful actions when illegally placing the Haiyang 981 drilling rig on the continental shelf and exclusive economic zone of Vietnam.

At the exchange, the young generation of Nghe An province relived the heroic period through the stories of war veterans who fought to liberate and protect the Truong Sa archipelago in 1975 and directly participated in the Gac Ma naval battle in 1988. At the same time, they grasped the current developments and situation in the East Sea as well as better understood our country's fighting methods in protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
