Representatives of the National Organizing Committee for the celebration of major holidays in 2014-2015 said that there will be about 550 press agencies participating in reporting on the parade and march to celebrate National Day on September 2; including 50 foreign press agencies.

On the afternoon of August 31, the National Organizing Committee for the celebration of major holidays in 2014 - 2015 held the Opening Ceremony of the Press Center to serve propaganda activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2015) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2015).

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Huynh Vinh Ai, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense...

According to the Organizing Committee, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam includes two major activities: The delegation of leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Hanoi city will offer incense at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Martyrs Monument, Hanoi city at 7:00 a.m. on September 1, 2015.

The rally, parade and march were solemnly held at Ba Dinh Square and several streets in Hanoi at 7:00 a.m. on September 2, 2015.

The parade and marching program has the participation of the people's armed forces (army, police, guerrillas, militia, self-defense forces), the people's mass forces representing the components and forces in society: veterans, workers, farmers, intellectuals, businessmen, youth, women and ethnic groups of Vietnam. After the parade and marching ceremony is the art parade program with the participation of artists, artisans, and students of art schools.

According to the Organizing Committee, the ceremony was attended by leaders of the Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; representatives of veteran revolutionary cadres, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, generals; representatives of Central Committees, Ministries, branches, and organizations; provinces and cities directly under the Central Government; National Organizing Committees celebrating major anniversaries in the two years 2014-2015...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Truong Minh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, emphasized that the anniversary is a particularly important event. In 1945, the people of the whole country rose up to carry out the August Revolution, overthrowing the feudal colonial regime, liberating the people from misery, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, opening a new era of development for the country and the Vietnamese people.

“The August Revolution and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, have entered the history of the Vietnamese nation as a brilliant page, a victory of the aspiration for freedom and independence, a victory of the spirit of self-reliance, creativity, of the unity of will and action between the Party and the people. The great achievements and invaluable lessons of the August Revolution and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam have become the luggage and driving force that motivated all of our people under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh to carry out a long and arduous resistance war to defeat the invading imperialists, achieve national unification, and bring our country to socialism…”, Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan emphasized.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Mr. Vu Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Press Department, said that 550 press agencies will participate in reporting on the 70th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the parade, including 50 foreign press agencies.

"The activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) aim to educate the nation's tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, and aspiration for peace; promote the spirit of great national unity; express deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for national independence and unification; and affirm the determination of the entire Party, people, and army in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," the representative of the Organizing Committee affirmed.
