58 Indonesians die on arrival in Mecca
Every Muslim has a wish to visit Mecca in Saudi Arabia at least once in their life.
Indonesian Muslims are no exception as pilgrimage to the Holy Land is not only a dream but also a source of pride and satisfaction, although not everyone has the financial means to do so, and for some, such arduous journeys are beyond their physical endurance.

As has happened before, out of a total of 194,000 Indonesian Muslims who made the pilgrimage to Mecca this year as of October 16, with the first ones fulfilling their dream on September 21, 58 people have died, aged between 44 and 79, most of them from cardiovascular disease and about 20% from respiratory diseases.
Indonesia's Religious Affairs Minister Suryadarma Ali said Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim country and also the country with the largest number of annual pilgrims to Mecca.
This year, 83.99%, or 164,917 people, out of the total 194,000 people mentioned above made their trip through the official state service. And the deadline for the pilgrimage to the Holy Land this year is October 20./.
