(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province has received more than 8.7 billion VND from units and individuals to support people in flood-affected areas and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

According to a quick report from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, as of 3:00 p.m. on October 6, 6,584 groups and individuals had registered to support relief work through the provincial Relief Fund, with a budget of more than 15.5 billion VND.

The provincial Fatherland Front has received more than 8.7 billion VND in funding, of which more than 525 million VND was donated in cash, more than 6.9 billion VND was transferred, and more than 1.2 billion VND was given directly to people. In addition, localities and units registered to donate nearly 6.8 billion VND.

Since October 2, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has allocated 34.6 billion VND in emergency support for local people to overcome natural disasters. In the immediate future, the focus will be on providing emergency support in terms of food, water, environmental sanitation, and supporting families whose houses have collapsed to have stable housing.

At the same time, the Fatherland Front at all levels coordinated well with localities in selecting people who suffered heavy losses for delegations to visit, encourage and help.
