According to the indictment, while married in China, Vi Thi Hien became acquainted with Vi Thi An. An discussed with Hien about returning to Vietnam to find women to send to China to sell. If they were sold, An would pay Hien 10 million VND per person. Around 2014, An and Hien returned to Vietnam and met Ngan Thi Dien and Luong Thi Mai, inviting them to go to China to do business or get married. If Dien and Mai agreed to go to China, An and Hien would pay each of them 30 million VND. After agreeing, Hien hired two motorbike taxis to take Dien and Mai to town to catch a bus to Vinh city and then to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) and would cross the border to China. That was the plan, but just as they were about to leave, Hien, Dien and Mai were arrested by the Tri Le Border Guard Station.
At the trial, Vi Thi Hien confessed to the crime as stated in the indictment. Vi Thi An has disappeared from the locality and is currently wanted.
After considering aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the People's Court sentenced Vi Thi Hien to 6 years in prison for human trafficking./.
