Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that Vietnam's seafood export turnover in the first 6 months of 2013 reached nearly 2.9 billion USD, up 0.3% over the same period last year.

The main import markets for Vietnamese seafood are still the US, EU and Japan. Specifically, in the first 6 months of the year, seafood exports to the US reached more than 609.2 million USD, up 6%; EU reached 512.3 million USD, down 7.8%; Japan reached 505.7 million USD, down 1.3% compared to the same period last year. The Brazilian import market had the most positive growth, with 76.5%, reaching 51.8 million USD. At a relatively high growth rate was the ASEAN market with an increase of 11.8%, reaching 175.2 million USD. Seafood exports to Russia decreased the most with a decrease of 39.3%, reaching only 28.4 million USD.
