6 cases of alcohol concentration violations in the first week of social distancing in Nghe An

According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province, during the 8 days of social distancing according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister, the number of vehicles participating in traffic decreased, so traffic order and safety in the province was stable, with no other unexpected incidents.

There were 3 traffic accidents in the province, killing 3 people and injuring 1 person. Compared to the same period in 2019, there was a decrease of 1 accident, 1 death, and 1 injury.

From April 1-8, the Traffic Police force organized 4,555 patrols and inspections with 1,500 officers and soldiers, and made administrative records of 510 cases. Of which, 193 were car drivers (3 passenger cars, 158 trucks, 29 cars, 3 taxis...), 317 were motorbike drivers. 2 cars and 63 motorbikes were temporarily detained; at the same time, 347 cases were fined, and the Treasury collected over 300,000,000 VND in fines.

Of these, 84 cases were speeding violations, 6 cases were alcohol violations, 63 cases were driving without a license, 67 cases were not wearing helmets...

According to the leader of the provincial Traffic Police Department, in the coming time, in coordination with other forces, the Traffic Police will continue to combine the task of controlling and preventing the Covid-19 epidemic with patrolling, controlling and strictly punishing violations of traffic order and safety.

Priority will be given to handling drivers who violate regulations on speed, road sections, lanes, and traffic signals; handling cases of gathering, driving in groups, "swerving", "swerving" causing public disorder; and resolutely suppressing reckless subjects who resist law enforcement officers...
