600 coastal residents of Nghe An participate in policy dialogue on safe migration
(Baonghean.vn) - On behalf of the Australian Government, Mr. Anthony Kneipp - First Secretary of the Australian Embassy sent to the people and students at the dialogue very clear messages that the Australian Government wants to send to those who intend to immigrate illegally.
On March 26-27, in Dien Chau district, the Nghe An Border Guard Command, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) coordinated with the local authorities of Dien Chau district to organize a policy dialogue on safe migration and prevention of illegal migration for nearly 600 people in Dien Ngoc and Dien Bich communes and students of Nguyen Xuan On High School.

On behalf of the Australian Government, Mr. Anthony Kneipp - First Secretary of the Australian Embassy sent to the people and students at the dialogue a very clear message that the Australian Government wants to send to those who intend to illegally immigrate to Australia: "If you illegally enter Australia by boat, you will be forced to return to your place of departure. Those who seek to illegally enter Australia by boat will never be allowed to live and work in Australia. Do not believe the lies of illegal immigrants...".

People and students were also provided with information related to safe migration, labor markets, legal labor export by authorities and representatives of the International Organization for Migration in Vietnam (IOM); regulations on exit, loan policies, information on safe and legal labor export; consequences for illegal migrants to Australia; loan procedures and conditions, debt cancellation of loans to support workers going abroad; State support policies for labor exporters; measures to protect oneself from being deceived when exporting labor, etc.

This is an activity that has been implemented by the Nghe An Border Guard Command in coordination with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the past 5 years on the coastal areas of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc districts and Cua Lo town with over 11,000 participants, contributing to raising awareness and vigilance for people when choosing the path of labor export./.
