(Baonghean.vn) -That is one of the figures given at the Conference to evaluate the results of the National Target Program on Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation for the period 2006-2011 and implement the period 2012-2015 organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development this morning, October 16, in Vinh City.

The National Target Program on Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation for the 2006-2010 period has ended, however, it was not until March 2010 that the Government approved the 2012-2015 period. In the 2006-2011 period, the total capital mobilized to implement the program was 618.2 billion VND. By the end of 2011, according to the criteria of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, 64% of rural residents in the province had access to clean water; 40% of rural households had clean toilets; 80% of health stations had clean water supply facilities and toilets; 54% of schools had clean water supply facilities and toilets; 47% of public places (commune People's Committee offices, rural markets) had access to clean water and 32% of households had clean livestock barns.

However, in addition to the achieved results, the Program still has some limitations such as: the quality of the results is not high and not sustainable, there is a lack of close coordination between related programs and projects, the progress of some centralized water supply projects is still slow, the socialization policy and investment promotion have not been implemented due to the incompleteness of necessary guidance documents and regulations... Currently, the allocation of capital for the National Target Program on Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation and other integrated programs in 2012 is still slow and the provincial budget has not met the proposed plan's needs.

The implementation plan for the period 2012-2015, the rate of contents in the program increased from 15-20%. In which, the content of the rate of medical stations with clean water supply facilities and hygienic toilets meeting standards is 100%. To implement the plan, the program needs 1,127 billion VND. One of the important measures is to coordinate and integrate project programs, capital sources in the district, improve information, education, communication and strengthen the socialization of resources.
