(Baonghean.vn) - Keeping your car in good, shiny condition is always an effective way to ensure safety, save costs and one day sell it for a better price. However, each car is made up of thousands of parts that you do not know which are the main points to pay attention to each time you do maintenance.

Pay attention to the steps below and your car will be properly cared for.

1. Check the tires

Tires play an important role in ensuring a safe and smooth ride. When tires are under-inflated, worn, or cracked, they can cause the vehicle to slow down, consume more fuel, and even endanger the user's life.

Therefore, check your tires regularly, change them on time and inflate them to the correct pressure as specified by the manufacturer... Normally, if there is no unusual damage, you should change your tires after about 50,000km.

2. Check the oil

Engine oil is like “blood” in the body, helping the car run smoothly and quietly. To check the oil, you can run the car for a few minutes to warm up, then turn off the engine, then use the dipstick to check the oil level, you can replace or add more if the oil level is low.

In fact, checking the oil level should be done about once a week; changing the oil filter after about 10,000km. If the car is often driven on crowded streets or in dusty environments, the oil can be changed every 5,000km.

3. Coolant

A car cannot operate stably and durably without coolant. This is not difficult to explain because when the car is operating, the heat generated by the engine is very large, if there is no coolant under the influence of temperature, the metal parts inside the engine will expand.

Open the hood and check the coolant level. It is recommended to flush the radiator and add coolant at least once every two years. If you see a small puddle under the car when parked, this means the car has a coolant leak and needs to be inspected and repaired.

4. Doors, windshields, wipers

Make sure all windows, mirrors, and windshields in your vehicle are clean and undamaged. A single hole or crack in the windshield can be dangerous for the driver and front passenger.

Regularly check all windows and doors for cracks and replace any damaged parts as soon as possible. Replace wiper blades once a year before the rainy season.

5. Seat belts

If the seat belt is dirty, do not use strong detergents as they may wear out the strap. Always keep the seat belt clean to ensure its strength and not affect the aesthetics of the car interior.

At the same time, this is a non-repairable part, so when you notice that the wire is worn, torn or damaged, the best way is to replace it.

6. Check battery and brake system

Check the battery once a month to see if the “heart” of the car is still working properly and the terminals are clean. In case the battery needs to be replaced, do not forget to check the overall power source to ensure the whole system is still working properly.

The braking system on modern cars needs to be replaced periodically to maintain optimal braking performance. If you notice any problems with your braking system, take your car to a service/repair center immediately for repair.

7. Lighting system

Check the brightness of the lighting system, including headlights, taillights, brake lights and other signal lights. All need to be tested for brightness and distance; especially the headlights because if they are misaligned, it can cause loss of concentration and endanger the driving process.

In case the bulb needs to be replaced, carefully remove, install and check the operation of the bulb after the repair is completed. If the bulb is replaced incorrectly, it may cause a short circuit, incorrect operation... To be more careful, the bulb should be replaced every 2 years to ensure safety for each trip.

8. Interior cleaning

Clean and vacuum the interior when necessary. Although not a very complicated job, the process of caring for the interior space depends a lot on the owner of the car. When doing it, you must carry out the steps scientifically and combine the use of specialized tools and chemicals to avoid damaging the internal parts.

After cleaning the interior, you should deodorize to keep the space fresh throughout the journey.
