78 FDI enterprises honored with Golden Dragon Award

On the morning of March 15, in Hanoi, Vietnam Economic Times organized the 13th Golden Dragon Enterprise Festival and the 10th Strong Vietnamese Brands with the theme "Green Business."

At this year's Festival, 78 foreign-invested enterprises were awarded the Golden Dragon title and 100 Vietnamese brands were awarded the Strong Brand title, voted by the Editorial Board and readers of Vietnam Economic Times.

According to the assessment, in 2013, foreign investment activities in Vietnam achieved more positive results than expected, with the total newly registered and increased capital reaching 21.628 billion USD, an increase of 54.5% compared to 2012. This result far exceeded the target of attracting 13-14 billion USD of FDI capital.

Also last year, foreign direct investment projects disbursed about 11.5 billion USD, an increase of nearly 10% compared to 2012.

The miracle of the past year was marked by the return of billion-dollar projects, with seven projects in this category. The largest of these is the Nghi Son Oil Refinery Limited Liability Company (Thanh Hoa) project of a Japanese investor, which adjusted its investment capital to increase by 2.8 billion USD...

In particular, Samsung is considered the phenomenon of the year. Samsung's success in the international market has made the Group's activities in Vietnam bustling.

Having two new investment projects in Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh with more than 4 billion USD has affirmed the Group's commitment to long-term and systematic investment in Vietnam.

Compared to leading international brands such as Samsung, Dutch Lady, Heniken, Honda…, names such as Vinamilk, Traphaco, Hoa Sen, Truong Hai… are still very young brands, but these brands and hundreds of other Vietnamese brands honored as Strong Vietnamese Brands 2013 are accompanying, standing shoulder to shoulder and strongly cooperating with famous brands in the world.

According to the Organizing Committee, businesses are selected to participate in the program based on criteria such as good product and service quality; green, clean and beautiful environment; healthy operations; positive contributions to the locality in particular and the country in general through business efficiency and tax obligations to the state, job creation and responsibility to the community...

The Golden Dragon Enterprise and Strong Brand Festival was initiated by Vietnam Economic Times in 2001 and has become an annual event for foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam as well as domestic enterprises.
